Dan “Uecker” Baxter

Dan “Uecker” Baxter joined Check-6 in May of 2013 bringing over 24 years of military leadership experience and expertise in operational planning and execution, risk management and dynamic team building.  He was commissioned from the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Varsity letters in Rugby.  He earned his aviation wings in June 1996 in Kingsville, TX and reported to VF-101, the “Grim Reapers” at NAS Oceana, VA for initial F-14A “Tomcat” training.

Dan flew combat missions in all three platforms of Strike-fighter aircraft in his generation, the F-14A “Tomcat”, the F/A-18 E/F “Rhino” and the F/A-18C “Hornet”. His tours involved combat operations in multiple theatres including Iraq and Afghanistan.  He amassed over 3,200 flight hours and 720 arrestments off 9 different aircraft carriers throughout his career.  He was chosen to lead the dynamic rescue operations of the USS Ronald Reagan, which led the multi-service/country military humanitarian relief efforts during Japan’s 2011 tsunami and nuclear fallout crisis.  Those efforts saved countless lives and delivered over 774,000 tons of relief supplies.

From December 2011 to March 2013, Dan commanded the VFA-146 Blue Diamonds, flying the F/A-18C Hornet and leading 220 officer and enlisted personnel to the highest promotion and re-enlistment rates in the Airwing.  During his tour, his command was lauded for exceptionally safe maintenance and operation of the community’s oldest aircraft during intense operational requirements under significant personnel and cost constraints.

Dan is currently a Global Business Manager and has worked extensively with client ashore and offshore worldwide to deliver world-class Operations and Safety Performance Excellence.  He has facilitated multiple levels of leadership training programs, led many team building workshops and provided strategic planning-to-execution sessions with key industry leaders.  He has held positions within Check-6 as the Training Manager, the Regional Standardization Manager and Client Manager.
