Coach

After serving thirty years in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate, Flight Deck Coordinator and Maintenance Master Chief, Jerry joined the Check-6 team in June 2012 as a coach in the North America Region.

Jerry’s duties in the navy included serving as the Assistant Maintenance Officer/Maintenance Master Chief for the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron (Blue Angels).   He was responsible for the maintenance management of 12 F/A-18 A/B Aircraft, one C-130T and 116 personnel preforming at Air Shows throughout the United States and Canada.   As the Maintenance Master Chief for Strike Fight Squadron Two he directed the production efforts of 230 personnel performing scheduled and unscheduled on 12 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft during two surge deployments.  Jerry also participated as one of the first responders on the ground in Banda Aceh, Indonesia following the deadly tsunami on 26 December 2004 in support of Operation UNIFIED ASSISTANCE.  Jerry was chosen as the recipient of the 2005 Navy and Marine Corps Association Leadership Award.    As Maintenance Master Chief for Fleet Readiness Squadron One Twenty Two, he managed and directed the production efforts of 560 military and civilian employees on 63F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft and as the Flight Deck Coordinator for Carrier Air Wing Eleven.  He directly managed and coordinated the maintenance efforts for 71 aircraft and 9 assigned squadrons in support of Air Wing operations during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM enabling the completion of over 13,000 combat flight hours with a 99% combat sortie completion rate.

Jerry conducted staff performance evaluations and mentorship workshops focusing on career progression and advancement, establishing manageable goals and timelines.  He oversaw counseling on personnel at all career and knowledge levels enabling them to meet their maximum potential.  His astute management of aircraft, equipment and personnel during the execution of combat carrier operations led to his ability to rapidly analyze a variety of discrepant situations while formulating superior results.

Jerry is married, has a son and daughter and two grandsons.   Jerry and his wife reside in Lemoore, California.
