Mike “Magic” Bumpus


Magic is a former Air Force officer and a 1986 Graduate of the US Air Force Academy. He served as a Space Operations Officer at the Air Force Satellite Control Facility, Sunnyvale, California, a T-38 Instructor Pilot at Columbus AFB, Mississippi, a UH-1N Helicopter Pilot at Yokota Air Base, Japan, and a MH-53 Special Operations Helicopter Pilot at Osan Air Base, Korea and Hurlburt Field, Florida. He briefly separated from active duty in 2000 and flew for United Airlines as a Boeing 727 First Officer. He resumed full-time service in the Air Force Reserves in September 2001 flying the A-10 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans and Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. He finished his Air Force career as an Air Liaison Officer and Joint Terminal Attack Controller in the Air National Guard at Camp Minden, Louisiana. He performed combat and combat support tours in the Balkans, Kuwait and Afghanistan.
