Tim “Hoolie” Reynolds joined Check-6 in July of 2012 bringing over 24 years of demonstrated leadership, risk management, process improvement and team building/motivation skills. He grew up in a military family and is the 9th of 10 children and one of four sons to serve in the Armed Forces. His father fought in WWII with the Big Red One. Tim’s naval career began of all places at the University of California at Berkeley. Having earned an NROTC scholarship, Tim graduated with Honors in May of 1988 and was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy on the same day.
As a Naval Officer, he spent the majority of his 24 years flying jets off aircraft carriers. As a junior officer, he made multiple deployments to the Persian Gulf and participated in combat operations in Iraq. From 2005 to 2008, he served as the Commanding Officer of “The World Famous Black Ravens” of VAQ-135, leading the squadron through two deployments in support of operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Through his leadership, the squadron achieved the highest promotion and retention rates in the Navy while maintaining the finest maintenance record and mission completion rates. As an aviator, he earned numerous “Top Hook” awards during his many years of carrier flying.
His staff tours include time at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center flying the FA-18 “Hornet” and instructing carrier pilots on the finer art of power projection. Subsequently, he was selected to attend the U.S. Navy War College where he graduated with distinction, earning a masters degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. He additionally served at the Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee where he was recognized for increasing war-fighting capabilities of units. He also spent two years in the United Kingdom working for the NATO Maritime Command directing the efforts of multi-national staff. His last tour was with NORAD and USNORTHCOM in Colorado Springs. As a Command Center Director he led a team from multiple agencies and services in the execution of mission sets, including Homeland Defense and Defense Support of Civil Authorities in a complex, high-stress 24 x 7 environment.
Tim, Sarah and their four children reside in Colorado Springs. While they take full advantage of the outdoor life that Colorado offers and hike and ski; they also stay pretty busy with their kid’s (ages 15 to 4) school, football, soccer and basketball activities.
